Language Skills
The process by which children come to understand language both receptively and expressively.
Communication
Process by which language information is exchanged between individuals improving and allowing an understanding of the process of transferring signals and messages between a sender and a receiver through various methods (written words, pictures (PECS), non verbal cues, and spoken words).
Academic
The student's ability to perform age-appropriate school activities related to reading, writing, and mathematical problem solving.
Group Instruction
Delivery of instructional teaching within a small 2-5 or large 6+ group of children.
Social Skills
The set of skills people use to interact and communicate with one another. Examples include; greetings, turn taking in conversation, maintaining a conversations, engaging in eye contact.
Play & Leisure
A range of voluntary intrinsically motivated activities associated with recreational pleasure and enjoyment.
Behavior Modification
The use of behavior changing techniques which increase appropriate behaviors while decreasing inappropriate behaviors through positive and negative reinforcement.
